What It Takes To Be A Dreamer? (An Anecdote For Working Students)

What does it take to write like a journalist in the field of daffodils? What does it take to aid people with fraying bones? What does it take to build concrete walls so high that no one can see the other side of the world? All of the answers lead to only one, and that is: 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒂 π’…π’†π’ˆπ’“π’†π’†

It takes a “dream” to leap into the endless possibilities that are made real only by one’s grit—maybe a resilience in disguise, still looking so brightly yellow despite the feeling of dullness in all-day labor just for a dime that can't even fill the half of one’s stomach nor fit the holes of a pocket, just as complete disharmony between the breaking soul and aching heart. Was it worth it all along? Does it take two to tango? Like me and myself against each other just to wear the coveted black coat? Do I still feel my feet standing so sturdy on the ground? Am I still walking ahead of my path? Or running? At least hardly crawling just to reach a high-meter goal? Am I just delusional in thinking that “I can” because others take pride in it?

It almost felt like I was a philosopher, begging the wisdom tree to answer these questions and heed my prayers. But all of these adversities lead to the destination of something I know is greater for sure. Maybe someday sooner, in another life perhaps, I'll be able to hold that scrolled paper with a red ribbon wrapped around it. But little did I know that the answer was in my eyes all along; 𝐈 π€πŒ what it takes to be a dreamer.
